Alone again. Jordi accompanied us for almost three great weeks in which we live everything! Now alone we both finished our passage through Sri Lanka in the beautiful city of Galle ...

Galle is one of those places where history can be felt. They've been here since 1,500 Portuguese, Dutch and British leaving each his mark. Later the city grew and outside the walls is another chaotic city. However, what is inside them is different from the rest of Sri Lanka.

The legacy of the European peoples here is felt in the colonial palaces and villas that now serve as fashion boutiques, cafes and charming hotels.

A walk through its streets is the most pleasant, and the traffic is very limited and the distances are very short. In fact, we were only there one day and we had a good idea of what Galle is: quiet streets with low centennial buildings, nice and small coffee shops and restaurants with prices well above average, boutique hotels and people walking around from sea.

In Galle all roads do not go to Rome but to lighthouse. Here begins the promenade with the water on the other side of an embankment and a tiny beach but with a very good look! We did not get to taste it, but we were left with a desire for a good dip like those who were giving some jumping kids from a huge rock to try to impress the minister who was on an official visit.

Dip you want ... dip you have! The voice of karma suddenly hit us in the head ... "So can we visit the older brother of this hotel to use its swimming pools?". Fuck! Well, nothing, the next day to finish off this wonderful trip through Sri Lanka we spent lying in the pool at the pool of one of the best hotels in the country, so we could spend the night in a half-yard in Negombo , that if things are not free ... you have to save hehe!

Galle is a piece of Europe in Sri Lanka, different from the rest of the country and with a special charm. The truth is that we liked it a lot!

USEFUL INFO

How to get?

We did it in tuctuc from Unawatuna. A walk a little while that cost 400 rupees. To go to Colombo from Galle there are normal buses and trains until it takes about 5 or 6 hours, or go by the highway by bus and in two hours you arrive at the Maharagama stop, for 500 rupees. From there to Colombo or the airport you can catch another local bus.

Where to eat?

In Galle it is quite expensive to eat, but we found a fairly cheap place where we ate the best curry in Sri Lanka! We found "amok", that Cambodian dish so loved by Lety. The site is the Anuras Restaurant.

Where to sleep?

We stayed one night at the Galle Heritage Villa ... One pass!
